Mac Emulators News

It has been an interesting past few weeks and months. I’ve moved, trimmed some fat off the company, gotten a new job at a global electronics company, and finished up finals at the local JC. I will try to keep a better eye on the blog and what’s going on in the world of EMU for OSX. I’m sorry for the delay. Life creeps up on you some times. Cheers!

MAME Front End for Mac

MAME Library is a MAME front end for Mac OSX. The front end looks a lot like iPhoto and is pretty awesome. MAME Library uses the MUPhotoView for the iPhoto style UI. There aren’t many front end programs for Mac, so grab it from the Box File Widget or from their website. Let’s check out some of the features.

  • Organise your games into collections
  • Displays game screenshots in iPhoto like interface
  • Rate your games
  • Stores last played & play counts
  • Live searching of games by title, manufacturer, year, rating, playcout …
  • Show / hide clones, show available / all games
  • Launch games full screen
  • Imports game meta data from MAME OS X

New Internet for Mac Emulators

The Mac Emulators blog has switched internet service providers. I wanted high speed internet so, I canceled the DSL and switched to 12MBPS high speed internet. I have spent the last week without internet and I will be playing catch up. Thank you for your patience. Cheers!

New Theme and Updates

I have changed the theme of the blog and added categories. The categories should help people navigate the blog and make it easier to find things. However, adding the categories is causing some issues with updates. The people who subscribe to the blog might or might not see an overdose of updates in their inbox. I have no idea how that works so, I’d like to apologize if it screws up anyone subscribing to the blog. I have to go back through every single post and change the categories and fix some alignment issues that come with the new theme. Just bare with it please and I will continue to keep things organized a little better. You will notice that some of the posts are now in categories and you can find the categories in the menu bar at the top of the blog.

Cheers!

GameBase64 Saw Another Relase

GameBase64, the Commodore 64 browser for Mac OSX, saw another release today. GameBase64 1.0.2 is now available. Let’s see what the changes are today.

Fixes the problem with automatic updating. Oops!
Please download manually.

Download from the Box File Widget or check out the GameBase64 homepage.

Cheers!

Virtual Jaguar for Mac OSX

vj-title

This is an oldie but a goodie. It hasn’t been updated since 2008. It is also emulated in MESS but, just in case you didn’t know, now you know. This is a Atari Jaguar emulator for Mac OSX. Download it from the Box File Widget or check out the Virtual Jaguar Home Page.

*Made a correction to the date. It was supposed to read 2008, not 2009.

Yet more Downloads added!

Every game console emulator from Richard Bannister’s site has now been added to the Box File widget on the right hand side of the blog. You can now directly download everything from the Gameboy Advance emulator aka Boycott Advance to the Super Nintendo emulator aka BSNES. I will be adding more stuff everyday until the widget is completely filled with every emulator available for the Mac.
